THEMES : This is how it all began. Themes galore! Here are just a few.

THEMES (Click a selection to play)

  • The 700 CLUB '88 to '95 : POP

This is how it all started. When MJ was just a boy of 17, he wrote, arranged and produced the entire theme package for controversial figure, Pat Robertson. This is the main theme in a pop format. Notice his harmonies on the brass. Ehem...he wanted to point that out.

  • The 700 CLUB '88 to '95 : ORCH

This is the orchestral version. This was MJ's first use of live orchestra and he wrote all the parts with a pencil. He was VERY scared but it all ended up on TV heard by millions.

  • Bumper Montage

Themes usually need bumpers. Here is a quick montage of a bunch of 'em.

  • DJ's Kids Club

This was for some kids show called DJ's Kid's Club. MJ wanted the title to be named MJ, but they wouldn't budge. :-( They just wanted their freakin' music! [that was not a true story but it sounded good]

  • Straight Talk

OK. This is one of MJ's favorites from back in the day. He learned a ton about song energy with this one. We should tell the story on our site somewhere. It's a good one.

  • Turning Point

Some show all the way in South Africa believe it or not, asked for us to write a news theme and this is what we did.

  • The New Detectives

This was for a pitch for a show on cable called New Detectives. It's scary. Be warned. Very creepy. 18 and over only, please. Very scary. Did we say it's scary?

  • Princess Conferences

No, it wasn't for REAL princesses but it was scored for a type of empowering teen girl's seminar series. A pretty piece for princesses. Also, for you music dudes, it's in 6/4 time - sort of hard to write for that!

  • Christian Countdown USA

This was for a successful Christian music countdown show.
