Hi, I'm Michael John (aka M.J.) the founder of EpicSoul. I'm a singer/songwriter/producer and I got my start writing a syndicated TV themesong when I was 17. (Ask me and I'll tell you the story.) I've been writing and arranging music for over 20 years now and I've done everything from orchestral scores for symphonies to jingles for companies to hiphop tracks for MTV.

It's not really about the genre or the use of the music, for me it's about putting in the soul...finding the real heart. I've been writing my own music and helping other writers, publishers, producers and artists find their musical soul too.

I read and write music, play by ear and read charts. I was classically and jazz trained in piano, getting into MIDI and computer based music as a teenager. Along the way I picked up the bass and the guitar to help with laying down parts and write in fresh new ways. Most every song on the EpicSoul website was produced, arranged, programmed, recorded, edited and mixed by me.
